United Way’s Home Walk 2011
On November 19, 2011, Clifford Beers Housing’s staff and friends walked in United Way’s 5th Annual Home Walk to help raise awareness and funds to support the end of homelessness in Los Angeles County.
With over 10,000 walkers/runners and over 400 teams, United Way raised $427,505 in last week’s event. This year was Clifford Beers’ first Home Walk and was ranked top 10% out of over 400 registered teams having raised $1,704.84.
United Way is dedicating the raised funds to support permanent
supportive housing and rapid re-housing.

Clifford Beers Housing, Inc. is pleased to report that the Courtyards in Long Beach’s scattered site housing project is the winner of the Southern California Association of NonProfit Housing (SCANPH), 2011 Project of the Year Award in the category of Special Needs Housing! The Courtyards is a residential community offering 46 efficiency style living units to low income individuals in four classic Long Beach courtyard buildings.
