Omar Hall is a resident of Long Beach and has worked as support staff at Wilson High School for the past thirteen years. He assists in the alternative classroom program, supervising students who have been suspended from class.

Omar has spent his life working with troubled youth. At age 14 he worked in the Inter-Community Exceptional Children’s Home. He also was a Long Beach Police Explorer for 4 years. Additionally, he worked as a 911 dispatcher, and in Juvenile Detention in Orange County.

Omar’s relationship with the Mental Health Association began when a close friend sough services from the MHA Village. Omar came to the attention of the MHA Housing staff when Omar advocated at the Long Beach Housing Authority so that his friend could complete the purchase of her apartment unit.

Omar sees himself as a “protector” of the vunerable and brings to Clifford Beers Housing both knowledge of the Long Beach community and a strong commitment to advocating for expanded affordable housing opportunities for Long Beach residents.
